And, as usual, Q&A
Q: For how long have you been designing footwear in SL?
A: I have been in SL for 2 Years and started making Footwear for about 8mths now maybe more. I had started in SL with making furniture at first, but footwear was something I really wanted to do.
Q: What are your inspirations, when it comes to designing?
A: My Inspirations, hmm, it can be many things from what’s happening in SL to RL, I do alot of thinking and try ideas that hopefully people like, ideas just sometimes “pop” into my head lol.
Q: Does your sl style reflect your rl style?
A: My SL Style is a mixture, has a bit of both
Q: Which one of your designs is your favourite?
A: I have a couple of main favourites, My Victoria Knee Boot & Dangerzone Shoes.
Q: Did you prepare any new/special releases for shoes expo?
A: I have recently made a new Design and hopefully if I have time I have another design I hope to have ready for the Expo, for the Expo I have also reduced my prices, to help all within SL and towards the charity.
Q: What inspired you to take part in the ASPCA benefit event?
A: My inspiration for taking part in the ASPCA Benefit was an honour on a couple of levels, as in RL I always try to help all from animals to people, I hope my support can help even a small part in all walks of life, also on a personal part, it was an honour to be given the opportunity for a new designer to be asked as many of the SL Expo are always aimed at the well known designers.
Do you miss Last Call? At Lyra’s store, Jaywalk, you can find your old favorites previously available under LC Vamp brand, as well as her new designs.
And here’s interview with Lyra
Q: For how long have you been designing footwear in SL?
A: Three years.
Q: What are your inspirations, when it comes to designing?
A: Real life fashion trends, but also whatever I’m feeling like wearing at the time comes into play.
Q: Does your sl style reflect your rl style?
A: To an extent - I don’t wear heels QUITE so much as one might think from looking at my store.
Q: Which one of your designs is your favourite?
A: My Quinn heels.. they are just such a fun combination of pinstripes and patent to wear at many occasions. They are one of my favorite texture jobs.
Q: Did you prepare any new/special releases for shoes expo?
A: I am working on one currently, yes.
Q: What inspired you to take part in the ASPCA benefit event?
A: I’m an animal lover, plain and simple. I was excited to be invited to do this, but especially because of the intended donation target.

Since the transition from the in-world update group to the Subscribe-o-Matic group poor Phoenix has been getting a lot of the same questions over and over (which have been addressed in SoM notices).
Here’s the rundown to the questions you keep asking:
Q: Why am I not receiving group notices?
A: You are. The Subscibe-o-Matic sends out messages that appear as green text in public chat. You may be very popular, juggling lots of IMs and chat convos, and you missed them. If you are offline you will receive an email message, just as with personal IMs (if receiving offline messages is activated)*. To keep-up-to date on all messages you can visit the Shoe Expo SoM kiosk @ Couture Isle (51, 128, 25), click the panel, select history and review past notices by date.
You can also read all Shoe Expo group notices online via the Subcribe-o-Matic web site or refer to the RSS feed on the right side of this blog.
Q: When can I start putting down my stuff?
A: Our sim developer, Delora, is working her buns off to set up the architecture for the 4 sims which will house the exhibition. We expect to open July 7 during the evening (PDT/SLT), giving exhibitors a 6-day set-up window.
Q: Did you send me a group invite? Why haven’t received it yet?
A: We have not yet sent out the invites to the group which will allow you to set up for the expo. Your invite to the group will be sent out once the builder has completed her task. See Q&A above.
* To activate receiving offline IMs in-world: open your Preferences menu (Ctrl+P), check the “Send IM to Email (insert email on file here)” check box and press “OK”.
*To activate receiving offline IMs via the Second Life web site: click here and check the “I would like to receive offline IMs via Email” box and save changes.

Q: For how long have you been designing footwear in SL?
A: I’ve been designing and selling shoes since SL was still in BETA in 2004.
Q: What are your inspirations, when it comes to designing?
A: Basically, when I started there weren’t many shoes out there other than platforms, and I wanted to see more feminine designs being sold. So, I started with that for my basics, and basically design what I would love to be wearing. Then I wanted to offer a menu driven system that would work for colorchange, so I wouldn’t have to be pulling out notecards with color change options, and have to type all the time to change colors. So, at that point, my husband Lightwave who likes working and making scripts made the first ever in SL Colorchange Drop-down Menu driven system, and we have been implementing since. Most of my line of shoes are color change, so that people don’t have to pay a fortune buying all different shoes of the same style, and have become one of the top designers of shoes in SL.
Q: Does your sl style reflect your rl style?
A: It does. I like Classic and unique styling, bordering on the avantgard.
Q: Which one of your designs is your favourite?
A: I would have to say that I have 2 all-time favorites. The first pair is my AFantasy Color Change Heels with Black Lace.
The 2nd pair would be my AFantasy Color-Change Jezebels with diamond heels and toes.
Q: Did you prepare any new/special releases for shoes expo?
A: I will be including my newest design, which is a sculpty/prim mix with colorchange, called AFantasy Color Change Zipper Heels w/Bling and Sounds.
Q: What inspired you to take part in the ASPCA benefit event?
A: I am a true animal lover, and have adopted my chihuahua from the ASPCA. Animals are truly the only creatures on this earth that will love without conditions. To me, the companionship and adoration they give is amazing. The horrors that befall these precious creatures is very appaling to me. In my mind, humans are the problem. Animals are the cure.
Jeepers Creepers is the place where every fashion consious man should go… and maybe take his girlfiends too, since the store offers range of female footwear as well. While grabbing the slurl i happened to grab cute pair of *wink wink* Ughs as well
Here’s an interview with creator of my new boots, Eponymous Trenchmouth:
Q: For how long have you been designing footwear in SL?
A: My first shoes were my men’s crepe-soled Jeepers Creepers that I released in February 2006, and I’m pleased to say they are still very popular. For a while I made women’s shoes, but eventually I realized I had no idea how women picked shoes: imho, if you’ve seen one stiletto, you’ve seen them all. So now I specialize in men’s shoes, where I feel on much more solid ground.
Q: What are your inspirations, when it comes to designing?
A: I try to make my shoes look as realistic as possible. Given the dreadful shape of SL feet, this is not always easy unless you’re building large clunky boots. Sadly, even in San Francisco where I live, the vast majority of men have absolutely no taste when it comes to shoes. Far too many men put comfort before fashion! But every now and then, someone will tell me that they were inspired by my SL shoes to seek them out in RL. This makes me very happy.
Q: Does your sl style reflect your rl style?
A: Very much so, though maybe not quite so colorful or flamboyant. I never wear sneakers in RL and you won’t find them in my SL store either.
Q: Which one of your designs is your favourite?
A: The next one! Actually I have several past favorites: Oslo (my elastic-sided ankle boots), Shanghai (leather and silk brocade) and my latest high-heeled shoes for men: Sebastian.
Q: Did you prepare any new/special releases for shoes expo?
A: I hope to have some new men’s beach shoes ready for the event.
Q: What inspired you to take part in the ASPCA benefit event?
A: A little kitten asked me.
Just a reminder that the shoe fair photo contest is still going on at flickr, so if you haven’t entered any pics, you should do so! We want to see your favourite shoes and how you wear them!

If you avatar is unique, you need unique footwear too! Look what Sakuradawn Lei has for you: not only boots, but also something what i would desribe as a cross between a boot and a paw.
The pic shows Prowlers (with retractable claws), Trailmix V1 (these cuties leave animal trail of choice), and Laarzen boots (something for you human avis out there).
At Lazy Places you can find also other accesories for kitties and doggies, made by Sakuradawn are her partner Sven Okonomi. Off topic: could not resist and tried this one out…
An here’s our Q&A with Sakuradawn:
Q: For how long have you been designing footwear in SL?
A: Since around June 2007
Q: What are your inspirations, when it comes to designing?
A: I have a very eclectic style so when an idea strikes me I go from there. My current boots are more for the animal crowd, furries, nekos, dogs, however the boots I have coming out for the fair will be geared towards everyone. A lot of my ideas come from moments when my partner and I are being lazy and just laying around and start having brainstorming sessions that start with “You know what would be great? If there was a boot that (fill in the blank)
Q: Does your sl style reflect your rl style?
A: Pretty much yeah. ^_^ Although I can get away with a lot more in SL than in RL.
Q: Which one of your designs is your favourite?
A: I’m usually madly in love with whatever my newest design is, although the prowler boots are high up there on the list.
Q: Did you prepare any new/special releases for shoes expo?
A: Yes! We have 5 totally new boot designs each with at least two variations, has six. We are working hard to get them done in time and are very proud of what we have so far. ^_^
If you haven’t been to Azriel’s store yet, it’s definetly the place to go! The store building is beautiful huge cathedral on a high snowy hill… And inside, you can find looooooot of stuff. Of course Azriel makes shoes too…
…and that’s what he has to say about it:
Q: For how long have you been designing footwear in SL?
A: I am not sure now long exactly, i have been at it for a little while.. but the reason i started is because i couldnt find latex boots to fit my large non size 0 feet.
Q: What are your inspirations, when it comes to designing?
A: life imitates art imitates life. various things.
Q: Does your sl style reflect your rl style?
A: oh yes, I am very eclectic in both worlds
Q: Which one of your designs is your favourite?
A: I am partial to my desiree boots
Q: Did you prepare any new/special releases for shoes expo?
A: Not specifically for it, but I have released new shoes fairly recently

A: Every little bit helps

2008 SL FOOTWEAR EXPO EXHIBIT DETAILS
Hi All - I am helping put together a visual history of SL Footwear for the Expo. The Display will include images of shoes, and in some cases actual rezzed prim shoes. In order to get the ball rolling I will need a bit of help… and thank you to Phoenix and the other volunteers who have expressed a desire to assist me in this task.
In order to get the ball rolling I will need a bunch of help, my shoe collection is extensive… but it is also rather recent. I would like to call on all of you to participate if you can spare the time (this goes for vendors too… we need all the help we can get!)
Please go through your shoe collections… look for your old, your funky, your favorite, your ‘I cannot beleive I wore these!’, your sexiest, your highest, your flattest, your sportiest… well you get the idea. Shoes, shoes, shoes… and boots, and sandals, - neko, punk, fantasy, period… we need Men’s and Ladies too!
Shoot pictures of your shoes on a plain white background (set to full bright), square format is appreciated but not essential, as I can recrop later ***MINIMUM SIZE 1024 x 1024 Pixels pls!***. Images should be from the knees down… or for very high thighed Items a bit higher, and should be the focus of the shot. Fancy legwear and garments showing in the shot are not recommended, but hosiery or socks that are appropriate are fine. Please use the ‘Advanced - Rendering - Features - Footshadows x (OFF)’ so we dont have those pesky blurs around the feet. Feel free to use poses that reflect the type of shoe you are showing.
Here are some samples of what we are looking for;
Please email your shots to me, Anessa Stine at anessa.stine@gmail.com. I will be choosing the best and putting together the display. Jpegs please. :))
