Jerremy’s RezDay!

November 22nd, 2008
A bunch of us gathered tonight to celebrate Jerremy Darwin's rezday! It was a really fun rock & roll themed party, hosted by his awesome wife, Tymmerie, and music provided by KONA Radio DJ and fellow blogger, GoSpeed Racer, with Ravishal Bentham helping out. :)

It was super fun and it was good to get together with a lot of people that we don't always get to meet. The funniest part is that most of us have each other on plurk lists or blog rolls, but it's VERY rare that we ever meet in world! Isn't that nuts? So it was nice to finally meet a few people that I have long admired for their writings, like Night Morrisey! Of course, I was supposed to have a date, but I believe a certain cute girl took up his evening. :) She is way cuter than me, so I don't mind. I had lots of fun dancing with my girls on top of a big record!

I did take some pics, but I want to apologize in advance for the quality. I am working off of a completely fresh hard drive because I got some kind of virus over the past weekend, which I think I had mentioned before. So I had to reinstall SL, and in doing so, I forgot to choose high-res snapshots. :( And not only that, but I don't have Photoshop to fix them up. So basically what you see is what you get. LOL I'll share just a few right now.

I'm tired and have to get up early in the morning, so I guess it's time for me to call it a night!

Gallery Opening - You’re Invited!

November 21st, 2008

Tomorrow, Saturday, November 22, 2008, my dear friend Nightflower is celebrating the opening of her new gallery, The Nightflower Artist’s Cooperative.  YOU are invited to celebrate this event with us from 2-6pm SLT!

From Nightflower’s Blog:
The last textures were placed last night as I slept, as Adam Soler crept in from another timezone to splash the finishing touches across the arching megaprims that Belmakor Pintens put in place. A four-month build spanning personal traumas, the openspace uproar, and and multiple sidetracking creative projects has finally been completed. Fabulous artists have been contacted, wooed, and in some cases bribed, and their compelling work now adorns the gallery walls. What’s more, gifted photographers Seikatsu Koba and Bunny Brickworks have bought into the larger vision, and have agreed to become Artists-In-Residence, creating the dynamic creative atmosphere I believe is essential for a venture like this. And now its finished. The Nightflower Artist’s Cooperative is set for its opening celebration TOMORROW!!! The only missing piece is YOU.

I’ve watched this build from it’s beginning to it’s completion and all I can say is, you have to see it to truly appreciate it.  Come out tomorrow and celebrate with Night and all of the artists.  You won’t be disappointed!  Here’s your Limo to the Party!

FRESH OFF THE BLOGS: The Ticking Hand of Time (OMG! Can I Shop Now?)

November 21st, 2008

Here I am!!  And blogging too!  Who would have thunk it? ;op

In all seriousness now, the holidays are getting closer.  Almost time to fill up on the food we love but know we should probably have in moderation (what is that word again?).  Almost time to spend time with the ones we love but don’t see often (you mean I have to go to Aunt Marge’s house AGAIN?).  And most importantly, almost time for awesome awesome AWESOME sales in SL!

I <3 Shopping.  *sighs*

Anyhoo, here’s the freshness:

- Adam n Eve have been busy bees as of late.   This week, they offer up (what is probably) the first installment of photorealistic skins, released on the “Evolution” line.  Very impressive, if my inexperienced skin shopper self should say so.  Also new this week, “Celebre” - a sexy dress with four versatile styles.  (http://www.adam-n-eve.co.uk/)

- Staying on the versatility train for a moment, Awesome Designs releases “Encore” - three looks in one and 12 different colors to choose from.  Very cute!! (http://www.awesomedesigns.blogspot.com/)

- Calico releases a new hair - “Susume” - and 11 recolors of existing styles.  Me thinks I need “Angela” and “Catherine”.  Hmmm.  (http://calicocreations.blogspot.com/)

- LVS love this week:  “Christmas Carol” gown, released into the Princess Couture line.  Absolutely amazing.  Also, the OMG-I Must Have It!-Too Friggin Cute item for me:  “Christmas Tree Packs”.  Yes folks.  Carry a fully decorated Christmas tree on your back.  Oh my.  Give me now.  (http://liquidvelvetstudios.blogspot.com/)

- PixelDolls releases a coat to help us stay warm in the ever dropping temperature:  the Plaid Coat is wonderfully textured and includes a flexi-bottom for added details.  (http://www.nafii.com/PixelDolls/)

- A new hair and some new tops from Refuge this week.  Also, more colors of the “Bombshell” top released.  Pwetty.  (http://refuged.blogspot.com/)

- Lexi has been in the Christmas mood.  New releases this week include “Christmas Cutie” - a jumper-style short dress; “Santa’s Sweetie” - a flirty dress with garters and stockings; “Santa’s Naughty Helper” - ummm yeah, it’s naughty ;o) ; and for the boys, “Sexy Claus” - I would recommend every girl get this for their man before he says, “come sit on Santa’s lap”.  (http://stellar-designs.blogspot.com/)

Also, make sure you stop by the Skin & Shape Expo (SLurl:  http://slurl.com/secondlife/Monogram%20Tria/204/143/22).  There’s sure to be an eyeful plus some to drool over in the skin department.
On my to-do list for this weekend:

  • blog post re: SL giftcards (what’s your favorite?)
  • work on some pics for various in-store poster contest thingies (ETD, Nyte’N'Day, Solange)
  • work on secret present for Lexi
  • haunt Lexi while using her giftcard to go shopping
  • pay my SLrent
  • shop of course!
  • maaaaybe actually SEE Jelly in-world?  Mayhaps? ;op

Everyone have a fabulous weekend!

Simplicity

November 21st, 2008

Simplicity by Stacie Pryor.

Today is Friday … finally the end of the week … so I thought I’d keep it nice and simple today as we head into the weekend.  As I have mentioned before, blacks and grays are a big staple in my wardrobe, so here is an extremely easy look that is an ode to both.

Paris New York 3 by Stacie Pryor.

I’m a big believer that “less is more,” and I hate it when I feel like a look has TOO much going on.  So, at least in my book, sometimes keeping simple is for the best.  With that being said, keep in mind that I’ve assembled this entire look based on only a few key pieces.

Paris New York 6 by Stacie Pryor.

Obviously, the main focus of this look is the trench coat.  And this particular coat is another lovely gem from Aoharu.  I really just can’t say enough about Aoharu’s jackets and coats this season.  So many new releases, so many quality choices to pick from … I just can’t get enough.  And this trench coat is no different from the many other gorgeous ones available.  I absolutely love the gorgeous plaid texture, the flattering shape, beautiful belts, straps, cuffs, buttons, and buckles, and irresistable collar.  It provides such a sexy, yet classy and elegant look … I’m really floored by it.

Paris New York 8 by Stacie Pryor.

Paris New York 7 by Stacie Pryor.

Keeping simplicity in mind, I opted for a great pair of black jeans from Truth.  These jeans have a great dark denim texture, with realistic grains, adorable cuffs, and a sexy fit.  I think they were the perfect addition to keep this whole look simple and relaxed.

Paris New York 1 by Stacie Pryor.

For shoes, I added an adorable pair of Tuli pumps from Shiny Things.  I have been wanting to wear these pumps for quite awhile now, but I wanted to find just the right outfit for them.  And since the cute bows are scripted with 11 color change options, customizing them to suit the outfit was a cinch.  Wearing these gorgeous pumps and trench coat with jeans is such an easy way to go dressy casual, and this is totally a look I would sport in RL.

Paris New York 2 by Stacie Pryor.

To accessorize, I continued the simplistic theme with a beautiful heart necklace and earring set from Lucas Lameth (luc).  It is the Journey Heart set in Silver, and it is absolutely gorgeous and the perfect way to really top off the ensemble with elegance and beauty.

I’m looking forward to the weekend guys!  See you tomorrow!

Outfit details below…

Coat:  Aoharu Check Short Trench Coat in Black

Jeans:  Truth Virtue Denim in Darkside

Shoes:  Shiny Things Tuli in Black (with silver bow)

Necklace and Earrings:  Lucas Lameth (luc) Journey Heart set in Silver

A whole lot of TRUTH

November 21st, 2008

A whole lot of TRUTH
Truth has been creating like a man possessed lately, I have had things backing up so much that I just couldn’t put it off any longer. One of my favourite things is the Xanadu leggings, they are vibrant and shiny and so perfectly named…mind you I wish I could stop repeating one line from the song over and over in my head for the last 3 hours.

Where are we?

November 21st, 2008

It’s been too long since I’ve posted an update here.  Sorry folks!  You know how it goes.

Anyway, what’s going on with Splendor?  I’m pleased to say that the update wasn’t scrapped entirely.  You see, the problem I encountered wasn’t an issue with my textures - but an issue with NVIDIA display drivers and Second Life.  I was pretty annoyed to find out that the hours I spent trying to fix a problem on my end was in fact a driver compatibility issue.  Oh well, at least it isn’t something freakishly weird as I had suspected.

So, with the new RC release for SL, it seems like the problem has been fixed and I can get back to work on that update.  I’m very happy with it so far, and hope to improve it even further in the next couple of weeks.  A teaser: I hope to add scalp hair to Splendor with this update.  Yay!  Okay, anyway.  I’ll post some new shots of the skin as I go along.

Thanks for your patience.

*PS, some of you may have had issues in world with these skin files - as I have.. the head texture apparently likes to turn bright pink when fussing with the skin sliders.  This was due to the display driver screw up, for me anyway.  Just something to consider.  I suggest trying the new RC.

Christmas Came Early

November 21st, 2008

Ah yes, for the faithful fans of Stiletto Moody, Christmas cheer arrived a bit early yesterday in the form of the Red Tartan Pinup Spike. It's shiny and pretty and all wrapped up with a bow, just like any good holiday gift ought to be. Okay, so maybe it is a bit early, but it IS about the time for some holiday shopping. My recommendation, let the first gift you buy be something really special for yourself... and failing that, hand the Landmark for these beauties to your someone special and give them a very strong hint about what you hope to find under the tree this year. And don't worry, best of both worlds, grab up these so 'on trend' Tartan babies now and I can almost bet that Stiletto has more in store for us in the weeks to come.

Important details to note, there are 2 variations of the Pinup Spikes, one with full Tartan and one that adds another touch of black at the heel. Both are equipped with the superbly scripted options menu which, for those who may not be familiar, allows us to swap metals between silver and gold, add or remove the ankle chain, disable heel clicks, or wear the shoes at full bright if we desire. So now that the technical stuff is out of the way, I only have one question. Anyone want to help keep me warm? Apparently I went out in my short shorts again. :P

Head on over to Stiletto Moody and take a closer look.

Tuli, Tuli, Tuli, TULIIIIII

November 21st, 2008

Yup, TULI!

Tuli has released new goodness and I LUUURVE it, I haven’t really been in SL that much recently as i’ve not felt like it but I *had* to log in and get these and I thought it was time to post something so here I am! *jazz hands*

It’s not going to be a post full of waffle cos I don’t feel like waffling (I know, wtf is up with *that*?) but you can see from the pics the awesomesauce that is… TULI!

Tuli

On the left you can see the new Skullie dress in Lime, I loooove the coluring on lime, but I am going to go back and get a couple more colours, yup it’s available in a handful!   I paired it with the free leggings that I found in Sumi’s Corner at Tuli’s store and I tried pairing it with the lace socks (not shown) that are available, but I prefered it with just the leggings, it’s a gorgeous and fun dress that is vibrant and cute!   I paired the dress with the new Connect Hair from Magika, i’m really digging Magika at the moment, and I love their Blondes, so expect to see more Magika hair from me now and then D

The 2 pics on the right are of the new Sue dress from Tuli, shown here in black, it’s also available in more colours.   I opted for black because it’s black/red and I love that colour combo.   As you can see you get the gorgeous poofy dress complete with bow at the back and you also get two sets of gloves, one red and one black, a gorgeous dress for a gorgeous occasion, I don’t often do “big” dresses, but I immediately fell for this one!  It’s paired with the new Lucy hair from Magika, another style i’m really digging, the bow on top was just the perfect pairing for my Sue dress, imo!

The skin is the new Alice line from Free Speerit and how much am I in love with these skins? A bit bloody too much I think!! I love the shading, I adore the faces, I think it really suits me and I, for one, will be wearing it a LOT. I need to go back and get more, come to think of it. <.<

That’s about it, not a lot else to say really but I think you all need to own these things!

Tartan Twist

November 21st, 2008

The group notice from caLLie cLine introduced her latest design “taRty paRty.”  I didn’t even look at the photo she sent along and I barely read the note…with a name like that, I knew it was going to be one of those outfits I would buy in every color and live in for days.  I was right.  I teleported over still wearing the mishmash of an outfit I’d worn to Queen Coronet’s Rezday party the night before, said hello to Callie and bought the fatpack before it had even fully rezzed.  As I stood there talking with Callie and trying on the new outfit, I heard her say, “Oh, I love that!” before I could even take off the rest of the outfit I’d been wearing.

And she was right!  The beauty of caLLie cLine’s designs, in general, and taRty paRty, in particular, is the ease with which you can mix and match it into your wardrobe.  It looks just as good dressed down with a mini-hoodie and hotpants (which is what I was wearing when I got to the store) as it does dressed up with nylons, heels and fur wrap.  Or mix in one of Callie’s Snow Baby Forever Sweaters and a scarf for frolicking in the snow.

The tartan plaid dress comes in 7 colors and the top, both with and without the zipper detailing, comes in shirt and undershirt layers.  The prims on the skirt are set away from the body and are close enough together that you don’t need glitch pants.  In the same room, the blue one to the right as you enter the caLLie cLine mainstore, you will find some great new jewelry from Georgiabean Lately by Babyhoney Bailey.  I bought ALL of her rings and then some! Don’t worry, though, I have a special post just for GBL in the works at this very moment!

I’d spent most of the previous night running around AM Radio’s gorgeous sims, so I knew that’s where I wanted to take the photos for this particular outfit.  Then a friend passed me the landmark to the Macbeth sim, which was the perfect location for the Black and White version of the dress.  I took a bunch of pictures, and you can see more of them on my Flickr stream.

Byebye love

November 20th, 2008

So now it's time to say goodbye to Salina Beach and with that, to my Boudoir branch. No, the line isn't closing, it moved to mainstore. No more satellite though. This saddens me, I really loved Salina. Anyway I wanted to let you know.

Last look to Boudoir. Great thanks to the owners Samara Greggan, Asrael Hax and manager Thema Felix for having me and being so nice.

So yes, now Boudoir line upstairs in main store in Popfuzz. The pictures of Boudoir joined in the move so the contest winners and runner-ups are still up. If you want your piece in the cycling frame, join the Flickr group and come up with something cool, prizes and stuffs included:P

Bye bye Salina! Good luck to everyone involved! Cookies!

[review] #VERSTECK# :: Cabbage, Hammerfall, Serenade Me!and Plaid Dress

November 20th, 2008

I am been a long time fan of VERSTECK by Cristina Elvehjem. Her creations are always awe-inspiring with an unique touch. Cristina makes such cute dresses! There’s also pants and sweaters for guys (that I bet would look great in girls too). According to her profile, her store is for punk, neko, spikes, skulls, gothik, rave, leopard, retro, vintage, funky, colourful and cute clothes for male and female. You can find old collections in OnRez. The prims are extremely easy to mod and fit and I wish that Cristina would add more layers to her dazzling creations.

[review] CKS Designs ~ Kellie

November 20th, 2008

Kit Maitland from CKS Designs is back into creating sexy tops in tons of colours. The latest were named Kellie and they are a longer-length tank top with double straps & lots of detailing, including satin piping & some cute little ruffles along the front. In my opinion, they are gorgeous, sexy and extremely versatile. Kit offers every layer you could imagine in ten different colors. They can be used to go clubbing, to a casual look or as sexy top inside a suit.

Autumn leaves

November 20th, 2008

Ciao a tutti!

Here the cold suddenly came and ironically the streets are all painted with the warm colors of the autumn leaves! Colors that inspired me for today’s look. I wanted to put together an outfit which could give the idea of something cozy and, at same time, quick and easy. To start, I’m wearing the N i V E N rose tapestry brocade dress, which has a lovely autumn palette and the style I was looking for. It is perfect and stylish to take a relaxing walk in the park in the late afternoon.

I matched it with the cozy cropped Yeti jacket from Muism. This fur jacket is amazingly realistic, and really follows RL trends for the Fall/Winter. I own a similar jacket in RL, and I use it for my casual meetings with friends or with a more formal or bon ton evening outfits.

As the dress has a floral pattern of different colors you don’t want to go overboard with the colors of the accessories. Select one color for the rest of the items matched, that is brown or its shades, for the jacket itself and the great sculpty boots from Maitreya, the slouch socks and the classy gloves, a group gift from Vain Inc.

As the look is feminine and casual, a skin with a base makeup, made fresher by the dot eyelashes by MMS, and unfettered, straight hair in a gorgeous natural blonde. Final touches to add a touch of chic is the statement necklace from the N i V E N lizard coat dress.

Ciao for now!

Grateful

November 20th, 2008
Bella has been doing something in her blog the past few days that I thought I'd do too, especially since Thanksgiving is coming up.

5 Things I'm Grateful For

1. The person who reminds me pretty much daily that I'm worth something, that I'm not stupid, and who has helped me become a better person. I've long thought that I have to do this on my own and that I'm alone in taking on the world, but he's showed me that I'm not alone at all. Even when I'm in a crazy mood, I know in my heart he will always listen to me. I don't always take advantage of that, but I'm getting better at it. :) He makes me laugh, we have incredible fun together, and he encourages & supports me in whatever I do. Things haven't always been easy, but I think that's what makes it so special. I will be forever grateful for having him in my life. <3

2. My unbelievable group of friends. I've had online friends since I was 15 years old, and it wasn't until now that I really understood what it was all about. They are the type of friends you pray that you find. They don't judge you for mistakes that you make, they listen, they don't pry, they're super funny, and of course I think they are all as beautiful as the avatars they have created. Whenever any of us are upset, the first thing out of everyone's mouth is "Whose ass are we kicking today?" LOL To quote a movie I like: "There are people in this world to save you when you need saving, to cover your ass when it needs covering, and who are always there when you need someone to lean on."

3. Second Life. Without it, #1 and #2 wouldn't have been possible at all. Although it has not always been good, every day that I log in, I feel grateful that it's there.

4. Content creators. Oh where would we be without you all?? You make the things that make the SL world so amazing in the first place!

5. This blog and the people who read it. I know sounds like two things, but they're tied together. Through this blog I have been able to really find myself again. Last year I was pretty lost. I was extremely unhappy. I found myself wondering what was the point of living. But being able to express myself in this blog, even when it was just silly stuff that fell out of my head, made an enormous amount of difference. The people who read this blog and take the time to comment or IM me in world have helped so much in so many ways.

So that's my list for today. I know, you were probably expecting something a little more superficial. :) Maybe I'll do another list later on as it gets closer to Thanksgiving.

I’m Famous Too…

November 20th, 2008

You probably remember Cerrie’s original “I’m Famous…” post from back in September, when Natsuko Paravane, the creator behind Swallowtail, featured her photos on the official Swallowtail Designs blog.  Well, I’m proud to announce that another Fashion Ascension blogger has joined the ranks of the Swallowtail Fashionistas.  And it’s such an honor for my pictures from the “Joyful” and “Pigment” blogs to be featured on the Swallowtail Designs blog as “Fashionista with Swallowtail Vol. 17.”  Please be sure to check out the blog and visit her gorgeous shop in The Lolo.

Thanks again, Natsuko … your designs ROCK!

In the beginning there was my avatar… naked, cartoonish and confused…

That was how my first blog was worded. Well, the trouble is the blog never really started. And no, this is not Girl Wonder, Tymmerie. It is her pesky blog stealing husband again! Seems I only pop on here for someone's rezday. Well, this time it is for mine. :-) I had thought to do a guest blog on her site today, but don't want to subject all of her readers unwillingly to read my

Purple Loves Green

Purple Loves Green by Stacie Pryor.

A few days ago, I read a really great blog written by Gabby Panacek touching on the combination of greens and purples.  And I couldn’t agree with her more.  Then, a beautiful pair of forest green pants fell into my lap, and the rest is history.  So, here’s an outfit that is very much my own personal style, but I wanted to give credit where credit is due (thanks Gabby!).

These pants were sent to me by Aranel Ah of *BOOM*, and I loved them immediately.  The rich forest green hue is one of those great fall colors I look forward to wearing each year.  And the overall fit of these pants is outstanding.  The tweed texture reminds me of some of my favorite RL pants that I wear in the fall and winter to keep me warm and defend against the nippy winds.  And there are some really great details to these pants that should be noted as well, including the gorgeous seams, beautiful cuffs, and awesome pocket detailing.  I took a trip to the *BOOM* mainstore to make sure that these pants are available for purchase, and I found a variety of other color options, including khakis, browns, blues, purples, and many others.  Honestly, I love these pants so much, that I definitely would have purchased the fatpack if it was available.

I paired the pants with this gorgeous jacket I had been considering for some time now.  I knew I wanted to own this adorable jacket from [Decoy], but I needed the right pieces to make it work.  I chose this purple one because it works so well with the green pants.  I even added an undershirt from [Decoy] as well, in this gorgeous lime color that really pops against both the jacket and the pants.  But, back to the jacket!  This jacket is just honestly a beautiful piece, with so many gorgeous details.  I love the prim bunchy sleeves, the gorgeous collar, the adorable belt, and the classy gold zipper and buckle.  The jacket required absolutely no editing to suit my avatar and comes in a multitude of color options.  I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of trying it out!  In other words … GO BUY IT LAURENZA!

I found the perfect shoes to suit this outfit at none other than Maitreya … big surprise, right?  These lovely green heels were the perfect addition to the feet, meshing beautifully with the shades of green displayed in the pants and undershirt.  As always, Maitreya never disappoints.

Some really awesome accessories rounded out this whole look.  I started with this awesome Antique Necklace from Swallowtail, which you have seen on me before.  The vibrant green gemstone is the perfect way to enhance the greens in the top and pants.  From there I found a few other key pieces, including the Melange earrings in olive from {Zaara}, the gem jelly donut bangle from Fresh Baked Goods which has been color changed to suit the ensemble, and the Eclectic Watch in larkspur from Muse.  I think they all work very well together to bring really the whole outfit to its peak.  Once the whole look was finally put together, it seemed very TABLEAU to me, so no better sim to shoot pics in than the one and only Tableau.

I’m sooooo glad that tomorrow is Friday!  See you then!
