Blahbity Blah Blah….so a lot of you got taken by Hart Larsson’s PXL skins, which now have a DMCA filed against them by Laqroki’s Mallory Cowen…big deal.
it’s not the first time someone has blogged raving about something that turns out to have been stolen, and it definitely won’t be the last.
With all due respect to Sasy Scarborough, does her letter really need to be reposted & reinterpreted on every other blog? Come on already.
Get a hold of yourselves and stop being so alarmist and dramatic already. And stop posting the letter on every single blog, because it all goes to the same damn feed!

In the whole scheme of things, who should be feeling most hurt right now? The designer whose work was ripped off, the customer who paid a premium price for these skins believing that they were original, or the blogger who got a free review copy? The feed has been full of reviews of these skins for the past few weeks, and to be honest I can’t remember who blogged them and who didn’t, and I certainly won’t be judging anyone who reviewed them in good faith.

I don’t think they’re being dramatic by reposting Scarborough’s letter. What happened with the Laqroki skins is all too common and it’s about time someone’s taken a stand against it. I think by reposting the letter, each blogger is echoing an unwillingness to be cheated and taken advantage of by thieves. Personally, seeing that posted Letter over and over again on every blog I read made me smile.
As an SL consumer and a reader of all of your blogs, as well as those of others from the fashion feeds, I have to say that I’m proud of those who aren’t just going to stand by and watch creators being ripped off.

Its not the content I take offense with…its having the same shit shoved down my throat over and over again. I got it the first time, and its not any better the 5th and 6th times. This is an ongoing habit of hers. She posts or changes her blog so the article appears at the top of the feed ALL THE DAMN TIME.
I posted a question as to why as a comment on her blog, she basically told me she will do what she wants and that if I didn’t like it, well tough.

It’s not about Sasy’s letter, or the numerous bloggers having posted about the PXL skins if they liked them…it’s about everyone reposting the letter or writing their own versions, in “support” of it - and my distaste of everyone’s need to act like goons because they write a stupid blog.

I said about 2 sentences worth on my blog and carried on my way…this is a shitty thing to be happening, sure, but enough already. I mean, geez, Hart Larsson isn’t even around, he’s on vacation! At least save your healthy dramatic rage for when he comes back. But for god’s sake, stop regurgitating the same thing over and over, people! Have an original thought! You’re bloggers, if you need help, find a thesaurus.

I kinda agree, im just getting annoyed eveyone compared this to MMS when it’s diffrent.
And i hate people who re-post stuff it makes people like and other who get there items shoved off the feed very fast for stuff people have already seen

(it was originally mentioned on Sassy S’s blog, i was commenting back to a few comments on there, oddly all her comments have gone now? wtf)
Its is thought that was from a source outside of SL and as not content was removed by linden evidently it was.
I know people seem to think my opinion on this matter doesn’t hold any weight just because i know some of the party’s involved but I’m fairly capable of making my own mind up.
I agree with ana people do have blogs that get traffic other than the feed, its this incessant re-posting that annoys me.

Sunshine, that’s not true, if you read back on Sasy’s blog a few weeks ago she addressed the issue her blog has with the feed and tried to figure out WHY it kept going to the top. She doesn’t do that on purpose.

The different between all this is that Minnu bought the images from the creator, PXl claims to have bought full perm skins that were stolen. Rendorsity has a license one that is rather vague i honestly don’t understand all of the license but i was for COMMERCIAL use.

That’s a thumbnail of a poser skin. It doesn’t even fit the SL mesh. (its not the same file as the one in question but i believe they all look like that.(or at least the ones i have seen in the past but I’m no poser skin expert)

I think everyone needs to stop panicing about that fact they might have blogged stolen content. Its happens and i don’t think your going to get hate mail off. Just once you have the information do blog the same item again maybe? Seeing as nobody knew no ones done anything wrong but PXL…
I have a lot of respect for Malory for having that class to let him right his own wrongs actually. I wish he’d payed attention that.

Thank freaking god. What people dont realize is.. “bad” publicity is still good publicity in this crazy world we live in. If everyone would drop it and move on and let Mallory do what she needs to do, the feed would be a much nicer place. Just my 2c

in other news….there is a huge thing doing down in Georgia (the country not the state) that might bring heavier hostile situations if it doesn’t rest…olympics, Phelps has obtained the record like others for number of career golds (yay), the USA gymnastics team is doing much better than anticipated or expected. Smog levels are down in Bejing - cause it rained. And thus will create more water pollution (fun things you learn when working with environmentalists for a year). *brings out the weight scales*
