Cupcake Love

Mimi Coral has stepped up her game at her store, <3 Cupcakes. I was first introduced to her work several months ago when she had a big sale at her previous location. While I was pleased with the outfit styles, I am not that big of a fan of obviously photosourced clothing, and most of the items I saw were in that vein.

Recently I found myself back there, at her new location on Popfuzz, and I was floored at how different everything looked. From the store build to the selection available, and the sheer prolificness of the releases. I went into the store one day and came out with all that I am going to show here, and then only a couple of days later, there were two more new releases. But the biggest and best change of all is to the clothes. They no longer look so photosourced, and the texturing and details are so much more to my taste.

Babydolls. I’ve said it over and over again, I <3 them. And there is an abundance of them at <3 Cupcakes. This particular one is called Coral Glimmer and its bodice is a unique one in my overflowing babydoll inventory. The deep V with a cutout strappy thingie is awesome, and brings an extra something special to the dress, and the colour goes perfectly with the Sunset Supernovas by Shiny Things I find myself always wanting to pull out of my inventory.

The one-shoulder minidress is the perfect little black dress. Although it comes in multitudes of colours, the black one is what stuck out for me, and a girl can never have too many of the LBD’s. I absolutely LOVE the texturing on this dress, it’s so well-done. The prim accent on the shoulder is perfect to dress it up and add a little something special too.

The Random Black & White outfit is my favourite of all. The unexpected accent of white in the jacket is fantastic, and I adore the prim sleeves. I am not always a fan of prim sleeves, particularly when they’re poofy like this, but on this outfit, they work really well. One thing that also impresses me about this outfit is that the skirt and jacket textures are not the same, which took it from what would have been a rather *okay* business suit to a cute and flirty little outfit, that doesn’t scream “I’m a serious and respectable businesswoman!”

The Bianca dress comes in several very bright and cheerful hues, and I had a hard time choosing between them (so I didn’t, I got them all :P). The texture reminds me of a stiff cotton, which is perfect for the breezy & cool summer days that I experience here in my town. The colour pops too, and let’s face it, when you’re wearing a dress this cute, you want to stand out.

The Spring dress is a totally girly little summer frock, with a bit of lace peeping at the hemline. I love paisley, and I always have, though I have no idea why. So the paisley print on the skirt is perfect for me. And there’s polka dots! Normally one wouldn’t be able to get away with two prints such as this on one dress, but I think it works, particularly when it’s got a solidly coloured top to balance it all out.

If you’re a bit more bohemian and not so much the girly girl that I can sometimes be, then the Aly dress is probably more your speed. The beaded bodice is beautiful, and it goes really well with the two-toned skirt.

If you’re looking for some really cute undies, then look no further. I fell in love with the polka Dotty lingerie, with the cute detailing on the butt to give it a little something extra. If your taste is a bit more sexy than that though, you can always give the Catherine lingerie a try. I love the sheer black detailing on the bra.  Très sexy.

If you didn’t really like <3 Cupcakes before, but you haven’t been there since the move to Popfuzz, I definitely recommend a second look.  I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
